What’s Our Story?

How Imperial Beach Certified Farmers’ Market Began

IB Beautiful, Inc. is a non-profit corporation whose group of volunteers has worked tirelessly since 1998 to improve the public garden spaces of our seaside community. Our  mission is to work with the City of Imperial Beach and local groups to identify opportunities to beautify unimproved public and private lands.

You may have noticed the flowers, shrubs, trees and other plantings growing in Triangle Park, along Palm Avenue, around the Imperial Beach Library and various other locations in our city.  These beautification projects are thanks to donated funds.

Our goal is to expand our commitment to the residents of Imperial Beach and surrounding communities by offering a weekly Farmers’ Market, featuring fresh vegetables, fruits, local arts and crafts, and family entertainment.

The market will be a major fundraiser for our organization’s mission and efforts.  Our efforts include maintaining and expanding beatification projects, establishing a community garden, and bringing back our annual beautification contest, as well as working with local schools and groups with community volunteer projects.

Volunteers are needed for a number of sub-committees such as membership, fundraising, marketing, participation in special projects (such as planting and maintenance of our gardens), the Farmers Market, Community Garden and the Neighborhood Beautification contest.  I.B. Beautiful, Inc., a non-profit organization, also welcomes financial donations.
